SOKOITARI INSPIRATION
(SOKOITARI) means meticulous attention to design details, and ingenuity and creativity applied to design enhancements. It indicates refinements that are inconspicuous but extremely careful in execution. Sokoitari is the ultimate “IKI” in terms of aesthetics sought by the Japanese.
Just like the wind blown pattern in the sand, a myriad of gentle streamlines are formed by the undulating yarns. Comes with a consistent design in two shades of brown that call to mind the colour of unglazed pottery, and three neutral colours with a bold presence. This natural texture and infinite expansion woven by light and shadow are the products of the creator’s imagination and ingenuity.
The use of fine thread in raised patterns creates a variety of expressions that vary subtlety with changes in light conditions. A blend of the conservative “ground pattern” and the more radical “Oikaze pattern” creates a dynamic design that comprises nine elegant colours. The creator’s inspiration has created a product that with changes in light produces a multitude of colour and pattern combinations.
